Traveller’s nightmare

I spent 7500km in the car this summer, and that without a/c on hot roads everywhere, behind those loveable caravans. No wonder those nightmares appear.
This image was pure accident, but before I hit 9 (Delete in Apple Aperture) i just thought I would have a go at it. I think it describes my emotions after being carstuck for three rainy weeks.

Impressed by my new abilities? Well, this time I set up a portable studio with two lamps on the side, and shot wide open aperture with focus on the center part of the grass. Slight adjustments in Aperture.
Or maybe not… I believe in the virgin image, the one that leaves the memory card and is finished article as is. But I also believe that what is beautiful is beautiful in whatever way it has been manipulated. I have learned masking in Photoshop CS4. and this is what made this image. Maybe we can say that it’s all in the photo(shop)? (And don’t worry about the noise. This is just a “first version”…

Heaven and Earth

Heaven and Earth meet up at Varhaug, an area of coastal strip in an area called Jæren not far from Stavanger. Jæren is the most religious area in Norway, the Bible Belt of Norway. It’s a place to feel close to Heaven and close to Earth, and it’s not surprising that they place a cemetary chapel in such a spot.

The weeds grow outside the cemetary. But they aren’t less beautiful despite the fact that they are regarded as a nuisance. Maybe just like Golidlocsk who lived alone in the forest with her parents. It must be a reason for them living there?

På de skrå bredder

Fully explaining the idiom “På de skrå bredder” isn’t quite easy, but a translator’s network opted for “Treading the boards”. It might or might not work for this image, but it sure isn’t the straight path this sheep is treading. The image has been heavily masked in CS4, and a clever eye might notice it:-).
