I am lucky enough to both have a photogenic daughter and access to a portable studio setup. Last evening the two converged with me and my Olympus, and ho, here’s the result.

On the Jæren coast between Hå gamle prestegård and Nord-Varhaug Chapel I found this boat offloading it’s scraps from the morning’s fishing. Debris for the fishermen, a fest for the seagulls.

This image has raised some discussion about cropping. Here I’ve attempted to do what commentators (Jan Ivar, Simen) have suggested; namely cropping out the foreground, and again tried to include some more of the foreground to see if that is to people’s taste.

They say that Evolution is just small unoticable mutations in the genes which show themselves in unexpected ways. Like puppies eating grass instead of meat? My brother Ståle got himself a lovely little badger, or dachshund, and one day he came to visit, and to enjoy a supper of sorts.

Now and then people ask me to shoot some pictures for them, very seldom earning anything from it. But this summer I got my first real photo comission, with the subject being “My lost neighbour”. I delivered 60 images which were shown for around 1000 people at a showing last week. I wasn’t present when the images were shown, and have no idea how they were received. But here is one of the images used. The idea was to make something abstract, and the green tone is by request of the customer. I don’t know if it works, but hey, if this is what customers want, I’m not the one to tell them that they’re wrong. So what do you thing? Does the image imply loss and loneliness? Does it work, or will this be my last commission?

I don’t like dogs. That said, I love animals in their natural habitat, which is the bushes of Africa and mountains of Norway. Animals were never ment to lick your face and climb your leg. But sometimes you just have to give in. Like this little fella, my brother’s new little creature, which (who? what?) convinced me in seconds that there are exceptions from every rule. Don’t you love that innocent face? Just wonder how long the innocence lasts. This one’s for you, Ståle.

I spent 7500km in the car this summer, and that without a/c on hot roads everywhere, behind those loveable caravans. No wonder those nightmares appear.
This image was pure accident, but before I hit 9 (Delete in Apple Aperture) i just thought I would have a go at it. I think it describes my emotions after being carstuck for three rainy weeks.
