On Ice
Panning and movement is a fun way of using the camera. But what is the value of these kinds of images? From the previous attempt and from discussions in other places this is a type of photography that has it’s fans but also it’s opponents. I’ve tried to follow Jan Ivars advice here, and do something with the colors, but that aside: Do you like images where the main point of interest isn’t sharp or in focus? What’s your stand on panned images?
This image is the last of my series from the Mos Pond (Mosvannet) for now, and what you see are two children skating back and forth in front of me. They were having a lovely time, and that’s what I’m trying to portray.
Notice: My camera was full of sensor dust. I’m aware of this specific weakness in the image thanks to the well grounded comments by Jan Ivar. Where do you think the limit is for publishing a ready image? Can sensor dust be accepted, or should one do as much as one can to remove it – something I have done here.

Jeg liker slike bilder, jeg. Så fremt de formidler noe. Og det syns jeg dine Mosvannsbilder gjør. Dette gir så absolutt følelsen av liv og glede med de flotte fargekontrastene som ungenes klær gir mot blågrått vær og is. Liker også at noen av de samme fargetonene gjenfinnes i klærne og skyene upp abåvv

Jeg er glad du så det med at fargene går igjen i himmelen. Kommenterte det ikke selv, men syns det var en av de gode tingene ved dette bildet, som jeg liker godt selv også. Skulle kanskje ønsket at ungene kom fram et lite hakk tydeligere, men det fungerer som det gjør nå også.

Personally – I love these kinds of images. They are more impressionistic..but give a true sense of the color and motion and joy. I would hope that the publishing world might see that too!!!

Jeg liker dette bildet mye bedre enn det forrige. Dette gir meg noe, med tanke på bevegelsesmønsteret og fargene som Ståle og du oxo nevner.
Det ser ut som om skyggene faller fremover (se mannen) Dersom dett er tilfelle, så hadde det vært kult å se skygger som falt i motsatt retning enn “bevegelsesretningen”…

I like it a lot, it really adds life to the image. Shows the play and movement of whats going on instead of a frozen image. Nice

i take photos of whatever catches my eye. it’s interesting to discover what attracts you.
so you like pictures of motion. how can i criticise that? i enjoy seeing what other people see. everyone has a different way of seieng the world, even wheb we are looking at the very same exact thing.
so i like your pictures. sure- they aren’t focused like “regular” pictures. but that is exactly why i like them.
besides, the world isn’t always in focus, not even in my own mind.
